Description:
Today, several Hindu youngsters do not have much knowledge on Hinduism. Some Hindus are unable to talk on Hinduism even for five minutes. They can not write even ten sentences on Hindu philosophy. In particular, the Indian diaspora are ignorant about their own religion. It is a small wonder that many youngsters in India and abroad have urged me to write a simple book on Hinduism. They want to have comprehensive understanding of the religion they love and follow.
I am aware that there are any number of books available on Hinduism. But, several of them are scholarly work and written in a style that is difficult to comprehend. The youngsters and students require a book written in simple language to understand the basic concepts of Hinduism. I started writing this book when I was sixty, and am now publishing this at my age of 74. I sincerely believe that to write on Hinduism, one must be mellowed by age and experience. Hinduism is vast and highly involved. That is why I have to spend several years to get a grasp of the subject myself. Indeed, had I put in equivalent time and effort on investigation of some scientific phenomena, I would have got two more Ph Ds. Such is the magnitude of effort involved in understanding and documenting the varied facets of Hinduism. However, study on Hinduism has given me more emotional satisfaction than any investigation of science phenomena: either as a Space Scientist at ISRO, India or as a Professor, subsequently. As a Scientist, I have tried to be accurate; and made an attempt to present the concepts of Hinduism in as simple a language as possible. However, my books are not meant to address the scientific principles of Hinduism per se. I always believe that religion and science must be kept apart. Because, a religion like Hinduism, or for that matter, any religion, is based on beliefs. Most of the data are based on the information already available in the literature in the public domain. I have just collected, collated and presented them under appropriate questions in an organized fashion so that the readers can grasp them easily. My own personal opinions and beliefs are kept to the minimum. I want the readers to get to know authentic information.
My books on Hinduism book will help the NRI community who want to know more about Hinduism, Indian culture and heritage. In addition to the diaspora, these books will be useful to the school and college students who want to have a good understanding of Hinduism in simple terms. They will also be useful to the Hindu scholars, experts and saints who won’t mind yet another interpretation of Hinduism: this time from a Scientist. I hope the youngsters in India and abroad will benefit from these works; These books are available in Amazon as Kindle ebooks and pothi.com as paperback format.
